DGC International Awarded IT Contract for
the Government of Afghanistan in the United States
Washington, DC — January 2010 — DGC International, a division
of the Diamond Geeks Corporation, is proud to provide the
Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C. continuing
network engineering and management, including systems
integration and management, risk management, threat analysis
and IT support. The awarded contract is for one year with a
three-year option to renew.
DGC International routinely performs security and
performance evaluations for several clients including
Embassies, Consulates, as well as State and Federal
governments, and our experience with prior clients provides
the company with a proven IT methodology. Our personnel have
had prior experience working with government entities to
secure virtual systems and provides security and threat
analysis, as well as system vulnerability analysis services
to our private clients and government organizations.
The unique challenges of operating in Washington D.C.
provided our personnel with the opportunity to further
secure the Embassy network. The added security will help all
Embassy staff adapt to a constantly changing and
ever-dangerous virtual environment. As the focal point for
the Afghan government, the Embassy must have network and
server systems that are functional 24 x 7, free from threats
and intrusions.
DGC International’s Director of IT Steve Beeler explained
that the increased security measures are intended to
facilitate an increased information exchange within an
unassailable, secure environment. "We wanted to work with
the Embassy to see if there are better ways of accomplishing
the goal of security without compromising the freedom to
share information. Our personnel and the Embassy had some
interesting ideas, and we're looking forward to seeing those
ideas implemented to allow the Embassy greater collaboration
between staff.” The company is also working with the
Consulate of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C. on network
engineering and management and security system plans for
their network. “DGC International is proud to have been
selected to support the Embassy with a vital security
operation,” said Steve Beeler. “Our team looks forward to
continued client success and customer satisfaction.”
The DGC International leadership team is comprised of
individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who are
dedicated to solving problems and finding solutions to
create a better and more functional virtual world. One of
the keys to Diamond Geek’s success is due to our long
history of innovation — bringing new technologies and best
processes coupled with a staff of experienced, customer
service focused professionals.
